Assemble reads in your browser
Have sequencing reads rather than an assembled genome? Assemble them here first. The assemblers (Flye 2.9.6 for long reads, SPAdes 4.2 for Illumina reads, compiled to WebAssembly) run entirely on your own computer: your reads are never uploaded. Only the contigs you choose to annotate are sent to the server.
Your browser can't run the assembler here: it needs WebAssembly threads, which require a cross-origin isolated page. Please use a recent version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.
Assembling Illumina reads (SPAdes) needs 64-bit WebAssembly memory, which this browser does not support. Please use a recent Chrome or Edge (version 133 or later) or Firefox (version 134 or later), or assemble long reads with Flye.

Keep this tab open until the assembly finishes: closing or reloading it stops the assembly. Other heavy work on your computer slows it down.

Assembled contigs
Tick the contigs to annotate. The longest well-covered contigs are pre-selected; phages are usually the highest-coverage contigs, often circular. Up to 20 contigs and 2,000,000 bp per job.
Coverage is SPAdes' k-mer coverage. Circular contigs have SPAdes' duplicated overlap at the end removed, so each genome appears exactly once.
